Sunday's Coming

Good morning, from Kerrville,Tx.
Like most of you, we are enduring hot weather. I pray you are safe. We have had a great week; had two daughters and six grandchildren visiting. It has been a fun time. Watching and listening to them having fun and laughing inspired my sermon last week.  It was on laughter. Did you know God intended for us to laugh?
Proverbs 17:22 (ASV) 22A cheerful heart is a good medicine; But a broken spirit drieth up the bones.
Don’t you love that? Almighty God has said all along that a JOYFUL heart is good medicine and helps us live longer!

Good humor brings good health! TAKE A DOSE EVERY DAY!

PROGNOSIS NOT GOOD
A woman accompanied her husband to the doctor’s office. After the checkup, the doctor took the wife aside and said, "if you don’t do the following, your husband will surely die."
1. "Each morning fix him a healthy breakfast and send him off to work in a good mood."
2."At lunch time make him a warm, nutritious meal and put him in a good frame of mind before he goes back to work.
3."For dinner, fix an especially nice meal and don’t burden him with household chores."
4."Satisfy his every whim."
On the way home, the husband asked his wife what the doctor had said, she replied "you’re going to die."
Wanna be more Godly? Wanna be more like Jesus? LAUGH more! Have FUN! Spread some JOY!

The gospel is about JOY! That’s why it's called….GOOD News!

GOD CREATED LAUGHTER! GOD CREATED YOUR FUNNY BONE, BUT YOU NEED TO TICKLE IT!

There are 2 kinds of people in the world, those who wake up in the morning and say, "Good morning, Lord," and there are those who wake up in the morning and say, "Good Lord, it’s morning."
Which one are YOU?
LaVon and I are truly thankful to God for each of you. Thank you for your continual support and interest in our ministry by investing yourself in many ways as partners with us: by prayer, e-mails, phone calls and your financial gifts. Without any of these we could not continue what God has called us to do and that is to share the living water with the world through the RV ministry.

Have a great day, love you, pass it on.

Count it all JOY!

Sunday's Coming

Good morning, from Kerrville,Tx.

We had rain yesterday, yea! I pray you are having a great day and staying cool. From what I've heard, this heat has also moved north. Stay safe.

As I was reading this morning, I read the following.  I believe we all need this today:

But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.” “ Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.” “Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.
~Matthew 14:27-29

The story is told of a young boy who liked to jump into the arms of his father. The son would stand at the top of the stairs and leap gleefully into his dad’s secure arms. But, the rule was, the boy was only to jump after he heard his father’s voice inviting him to take flight. One night, the father changed the game. The boy, anticipating this nightly routine, stood perched at the top of the stairs waiting for the familiar voice of his father. But this time, the father turned off the hall lights and the boy could not see the face of his father or the strong arms that always caught him in mid-flight. “Jump!” the father shouted. “I can’t see you,” came the wary reply of the son. Again, the father gave the usual command, “Jump!” “But I can’t see you,” said the boy with fear rising in his voice. The father’s response was calm and sure. “Jump!” And, with terror in his heart, the boy leapt into the air and landed safely and securely in his father’s arms.

This is a great story illustrating the concepts of faith and trust!

Most people are familiar with the biblical encounter of Jesus and Peter walking on water. Often the focus of this account is on Peter’s lack of faith as he begins to sink. What if, however, this story really isn’t about lack of faith, but rather what a person can experience if he or she takes the invitation of Jesus seriously?

Peter’s response to Jesus is, in itself, remarkable, “Lord, if it’s you, tell me to come to you on the water.” I’m not sure I would have been as bold as Peter in asking the seemingly impossible. Was Peter playing some ancient form of “Truth or Dare”?

While we may never know his motive, Jesus calls his bluff, inviting Peter to join Him. And with that invitation, Peter gets out of the boat and learns that Jesus can be trusted as he experiences the impossible.

Wherever you find yourself today, and you hear Jesus saying, “Come,” no matter how dark or impossible your situation seems, put faith into action and dance on the waves!

Sunday's Coming

Good morning!

We have a prayer request today.  We need rain here in the Texas Hill Country!  But even with the drought, it is still beautiful here.  As I sit outside and look at the pecan orchard and watch the deer grazing, my mind goes to how awesome God is to create so much beauty and then give me an appreciation for it.  While in that frame of mind, I opened the devotional book that I carried outside with me and low and behold, this is what I read:

His Evidence is Everywhere

A small child was fishing with his grandfather.

Suddenly in a burst of excitement he asked, "Grandpa, can anyone see God?"

Thinking for a moment he answered, "Son, it's getting so that I can't see anything but God."

Looking at the beauty of nature, we see the handiwork of God and are reminded that He is creator and Lord of all of life.

When I lose a loved one, I realize that He is a Friend that is much closer than a brother, and in my pain I find His comfort and compassion.

When I am filled with fear, I know that I can turn to Him as my refuge.

When I feel oppressed or overwhelmed, insignificant or insufficient, I know that my Savior has all the strength I need.

When I feel that my life is a shambles, I know that He can put it back together and that He will not give up on me.

When I feel that I have come to the end of my rope, He makes me aware that nothing is impossible with Him.

As sure as God is my Heavenly Father, I know that His presence and power, His grace and goodness, His majesty and might are with me now and will be in eternity.  We will never be separated from Him and His love.

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, may we truly believe that You are ever-present, never-failing, all-powerful and all-sufficient.  May we trust You for all that we need. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Scripture for today:  Psalm 19
(Taken from Seeds From The Sower - a devotional)

God is so good and man is without excuse.

To you, our ministry partners, we say, "Thank you" with all sincerity and gratitude.  May God richly bless you is our prayer.

Have a great day, love you, pass it on.

Sunday's Coming

Good morning,

We are back in Kerrville,Tx. We had a safe trip and it was good to see LaVon's mother. Thanks for your prayers.

Sunday we had the largest group in church since we have been here. God inspired me in a patriotic sermon.  My first point is for us to pray for our nation.

D.F.T.P.

He was Mr. Success and every man wanted his secret.  One day a friend found it.  Walking behind his desk he saw the letters; D.F.T.P. “What do they mean?” he asked.  “Dont forget to pray.” he answered.

The greatest power in the world is prayer. Satan’s chief concern is to keep Christians, like you  and me, from praying. Someone once said, “The Devil trembles, when he sees the weakest Christian on his knees.”

The New Living Bible translation James 5:16 says, “The earnest prayer of a righteous man has great power and wonderful results.”

Our forefathers CLAIMED this nation for God.

We need to RE-CLAIM it for God … AMEN?

It's like the sign on this mans desk; Don't Forget to pray!!!

P.S. - Click on "a patriotic sermon" in the text above, or here, to hear the sermon.
There is not a U.S. flag in the chapel, so this young man came forward, with the flag on his t-shirt, so we could pledge allegiance to the flag together Sunday morning in church.  What a tremendous example  this young man set for his children that he was spending the weekend camping with.  He brought them to church and he stepped forward before everyone present... not ashamed of his God; not ashamed of his Country.  We had a tremendous time of worship.
